Healthy Mocktail Recipes

Mix up your beverages with these healthy mocktail recipes. Not only are they alcohol-free, but they also boast ingredients with anti-oxidants and are low in added sugar. Plus, they’re delicious!

CHAI SPRITZ

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 c honey or agave nectar
  • 1/2 c fresh lime juice
  • 8 – 12 oz club soda
  • 4 whole star anise pods or cinnamon sticks
  • 4 lemon twists (thin-cut lemon peels, twisted)
  • 2 chai tea bags

PREPARATION

  1. Combine tea bags with 1 c steaming hot water in a mug. Let sit for about 10 minutes.
  2. Add honey or agave.
  3. Discard the tea bags and let the beverages cool.
  4. Add lime juice.
  5. Divide cooled chai syrup among 4 glasses with ice, top with 2-3 oz club soda and garnish with anise pods (or cinnamon sticks) and lemon peels.

GINGER GOLDEN MILK

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 c unsweetened almond milk (or oat, rice, soy, dairy, etc.)
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp real maple syrup

PREPARATION

  1. Add all ingredients to a small saucepan. Heat over medium-low until just beginning to simmer. Turn off the heat.
  2. Carefully pour into 2-3 mugs and sprinkle top with cinnamon.

TART CHERRY BOMB

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 c 100% tart cherry juice
  • 3 medium oranges, juiced
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 8 oz citrus-flavored seltzer water or citrus kombucha
  • Lime wedges and fresh cherries, to garnish

PREPARATION

  1. Mix cherry, orange and lime juices in a small pitcher or carafe.
  2. Add to 4 glasses with ice and top with the seltzer water or kombucha.
  3. Garnish with a lime wedge and fresh cherries, if desired.

SPICY GRAPEFRUIT “PALOMA”

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 c 100% grapefruit juice
  • 3 limes, juiced
  • 1 fresh jalapeño, sliced
  • 2 T agave nectar
  • 2 T (or more) Tajin seasoning (optional)
  • 1 12oz can watermelon seltzer water

PREPARATION

  1. Combine grapefruit and lime juice, jalapeño and agave nectar in a small pitcher or carafe. Mix well.
  2. If desired, rim 4 glasses with Tajin seasoning by wetting half of the glass rim with a lime, then dipping the edge into Tajin on a small saucer.
  3. Add ice to 4 glasses and divide grapefruit juice among them. Top with watermelon seltzer water and garnish with a lime wedge.

NOTE: To reduce the heat from the jalapeño, dispose of some, or all, of the seeds prior to adding to the grapefruit juice.
